Aerogarden

This UV garden is great for anyone who wants to try gardening but either lack the time or green thumb. This device is great because it waters the plants, given there is water in the reservoir, and provides them light in case your space doesn’t have a great lighting. The water reservoir is large and depending on how many plants and the maturity level, you can go without refilling it between five days to two weeks.

Every two weeks, you have to add plant food (which if you get a kit, it will come with some usually). It has a handy button that turns red to notify which is easily reset with one push. If you have a smaller space or want something smaller, I recommend this smaller Aerogarden version which just launched recently.

Rechargeable Electric Salt and Pepper Mills

I love these shakers for cooking because it makes it so easy to just dispense salt or pepper without having to use two hands. This set has a sleek look to pair well with any kitchen. A major plus is the large capacity of the shakers so that you do not have to refill as frequently. These shakers also have ability to six different coarseness settings.

My original salt and pepper shakers costed me $20 on Sur La Table (Black Friday Sale right now) but they were battery powered. It required six AAA batteries per shaker which is outrageous but actually common for electric shakers. Within two years, it would likely cost more than a rechargeable shaker which is why I recommend you don’t buy battery-powered ones. Who wants a gift where you either need to supply a large pack of batteries or annoy the person by making them buy that many batteries?

Rechargeable Gravity Salt and Pepper Mills

Yes, I just recommended the electric mills in the gift idea above. I like both gift ideas so it depends on your budget. The gravity mills are more expensive but not much more. Since discovering them, I have abandoned my normal electric shakers with the button. What’s amazing about these is that they will continue to grind the salt or pepper as long as the device is flipped down so you just have to flick your wrist to orientate it up to stop the flow of spice.

I love this as someone who cooks a fair amount, I enjoy this more because I am not having to hold down a button while trying to multitask with my other hand. I also love pepper so its nice to have it dispense for a long time without a lot of effort.

Label Maker

I bought my label maker for just labelling my pickleball paddles but after receiving this, I have been using it all over the house. If you know of someone who like organization, this is perfect for them. I use it to to make my mailing address labels for letters and to label the light switches, food storage containers, assorted screws and buttons I get from furniture and clothing (I label the ziploc bag).

The opportunities are endless! It’s super easy to use with an app that allows you to send your design via Bluetooth within a second. The D30 model also allows you to put different tape sizes (width and length) in there so I have small labels and bigger labels. Also, this kit comes with different colors which helps make it stand out based on the background of what you are labeling.

Compact Scanner

I love my Brother compact scanner because it helps me to stay organized with all the papers I get. If you know someone who enjoys organization, minimalism, or just hates have papers in the house, this is a great gift. It’s really small for a scanner (think the size of a three hole puncher). It’s USB A so you don’t have to be near an outlet and it will scan directly into your computer.

It comes with software that allows you to save the scan in multiple file formats like pdf, jpeg, png, etc and gives you option on where you want to save it. You can add multiple pages to a file in pdf format, delete a single page if you scan it wrong, reorder the pages, and even rotate the orientation before you save it.

It may seem cumbersome to scan all your documents but having it in my cloud drive and searching while I am on the go has actually saved me more time in the long run. I also really like having it all digitally because I can create spreadsheets and use a hyperlink to build centralized quick-access documents like a tracker for all my medical bills.
